us running into dave before the surprise party.

some friends of our friend, dave klotz, planned a surprise "30th" birthday party for him (he actually turned 31). this seemed only fitting after he flew out for brian's party. unfortunately for the party, we ran into dave a few hours beforehand while wondering the streets of chicago (it's a big city... yah, right!). too bad, we got to spend more time with dave as a result! this party also served as a sec-j west meets east event.
