we finally got our Golf TDI. After years of waiting for VW to import Golf TDI into the states, we were nearly thwarted by their decision to not sell them in california due to some strange fleet emissions requirements. oh well. we bought ours in reno and brought it back. it's still california-emissions certified. anyway, it was astounding how much better the fit and finish feels on this car versus my 98. we bought it right before going on our european trip, so imagine how surprised we were to see the amsterdam police cars that were identical to our new golf.
