munich was definitely one of our favorite spots. we made it to the last day of oktoberfest, relaxed in our Hotel's sauna, hung out at many of the gay bars and restaurants, met some cute boys...

there was complete chaos trying to get to the festival center where they hold oktoberfest. once we were there, the crowds didn't get any smaller! while it looks quaint and old world, don't be fooled, the cozy wooden booths that surround the periphery of each of these beerhalls is basically the oktoberfest equivalent of a corporate box at a sporting event. You'll see names like Siemens and Daimler painted in that oldworld font above the booths. most of the bench seating is reserved, about 30% of the hall is for walk-ins. it was looking grim, but then two people got up and left right as we were walking by and we snagged seats.

liter glasses of beer and giant pretzels. mmmm...

and after enough beer and pretzels, buying silly hats seemed like a good idea.

then, the glory moment - wurst and frites after getting shitfaced and dancing on the table. prost!
after clearing our hangovers, we went to the
deutsches museum, the german equivalent of the smithsonian.
