we'd both been under some major deadline pressure over the past few months at work, so after we both shipped our respective products, we took some much-needed time off (as you can tell from the site, we haven't had a major vacation since germany in 1999). we only had a week, but it was perfect. francois graciously offered us a place to stay at his family's pied-a-terre in the heart of paris and bk called up an old college buddy who used to live in bordeaux but who had recently moved to paris only one metro stop away from francois' apartment! and since everyone asks-- we had nicer-than-expected weather: only one day of rain and the rest was clear and cold (4-10 degrees C most days).
