Amtrak has been running spanish-built talgo trains between Vancouver, BC and Eugene, Oregon for several years now. But it was after we left that their newest batch of cars arrived. These tilting trains are DEEEELUXE, smooth-riding, and fast. Absolutely the best way to get from Seattle to Vancouver, Washington, for Kelly Kusler's wedding.

Kelly standing by the train. The colors are very Washington :)

Brian reading the paper. First class is a whopping $5 extra, so we were riding in style. We had the whole car to ourselves.

Here's Kelly getting some gourmet food in the bistro car. The ceiling is a map of the northwest, which goes very well with the GPS-enabled lighting system that shows you exactly where the train is, ETA for the next station stop, and the name of the town you're passing through.

<< The view out the window for most of the trip - lots of water and lush forests. One of the best parts about taking the train! Check out some other photos here, or try the virual tour here.
